Have you ever watched a romance film, and noticed the people sitting around in the backdrop, behind the couple that everyone is looking at? Or perhaps spared a slight thought about one of those minions who die in action movies? They flash on screen for just a little while, and then they’re gone. Our lives of 70 years cannot be of any significance to how long the universe has lasted, or even to the creator of that universe- the greatness, glory and power of the one true God.
We are like the breeze, that blows for a little while, and then is gone. Yet so much of our time, we focus on ourselves- our achievements, our profiles, interests and anything else that makes us proud of how we have existed. Perhaps we need to stop to think about why we have existed, and continue to do so.
This blog is not about me; it is about God.
