A Spirit of Excellence

To be excellent in everything such that all things are done for Christ and not for men. For indeed, that is the only motivation I find in some of the things I do. Well specifically, I must admit, training in the army.

Being in the army altogether has never really occurred to me as beneficial in any way. I have always seen it as a waste of my time, even though I agree that enlistment should be compulsory. How hypocritical I am 😀 Lacking any interest whatsoever in my lessons and training, I have always found it very difficult to excellent or be motivated to give my best in these things.

But I believe that God must have placed me where I am for a reason and a purpose. Perhaps I may never see His full plan, but I can list a few things now-
1.) I have grown closer to God in my relationship with Him because of the lack of purpose in my life.
2.) I have learnt to make good choices and place my priorities in order because of the little personal time I have.
3.) And I have strived a lot harder to make time for the people around me due to the short one and a half day bookout time I have.

So I shall place my complete trust in Jesus, as I know that all things work for good for those who love and obey Him.

Most Enduring

2 Timothy 4

1In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge:
Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.
For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
5But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry.

If any of you are called into ministry to serve as a teacher, a leader, and inspirer for God, immediately cut away all thoughts and impressions of higher calling. You will face difficulties and hardship, discouragement, a never-ending burden, and a heavy one at that. A lack of personal time, an instruction to complete obedience in the things you dislike, breaking your desires, your intentions, your attitudes, your plans, for everything that God wants. You will feel like breaking down many times. It will be a most painful and tiring experience.

And if any of you are called into that ministry, with everything I just said, I urge you to release yourself to God completely and absolutely, leaving no other thought for yourself. If God has charged you with such duties, you will have the most fulfilling journey before you. And I say that now, not from personal experience, but from faith.

He made me, gave me life, provided for me. I sinned, separated myself from Him. He loved me, died for me, saved me, gave me back life, gave me a purpose, a hope and a future. What more can I ask for! I have done nothing at all to deserve any of this, yet His unreasonable love has done so much for me. I tell you now, if you are being used by God, give Him a hundred percent of your effort and time. It is a privilege to be used by our Holy and Almighty God, only by His grace and mercy we stand and are called His children, His vessels to be used for the advancement of His Kingdom. Therefore, make yourself completely willing to be equipped and used! If there is anything to be urgent about, it is God’s work that must be done.

Perhaps I have not yet seen the fruits of the work that God has given to me, but I know that if He has given me a vision, and I continue to be certain about it, then God will surely bring that vision to completion, be it in my time or the future generations. As much as it is satisfying to see growth from our efforts, all efforts are for God and He being pleased with us is satisfying enough.
