The decision at last.

This must have been the longest time I ever took to make a decision. Most of you would know that for about slightly more than a year, I have been deliberating over furthering my studies in a local or overseas university. There were many factors which I thought about. One of the main ones being ministry here in Church of Singapore.

After much seeking, denying and surrendering, I have decided to stay put here. I probably could have decided on this a long time ago, but my desire to go overseas was so strong, I started to doubt God’s direction for me. I focused a lot on whether what I thought He was saying was what He really was saying, and forgot how He had already told me, quietly, but directly in the first place. I put off making the decision again and again, though God had confronted me I believe, about 5 times. Haha, I wish I had greater faith and did it earlier.

But one thing I did learn from this experience is the amazing grace and mercy that God has for me. He was patient even to the 6th time, when I did not even make the decision, but He kind of eventually forced me to stay here. If I had such a child, I might have had gave up on him a long time ago already, but my Father is ever faithful, slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. I am really so glad and blessed to have a God like Him!

And if you do not yet know this wonderful person who loves me so much. Let me tell you that He loves you, and wants you to know Him too! Quickly go find out who this person is; He will be your father, best friend, comforter and encourager, inspirer and motivator, your help in any kind of trouble!

Hide it in your heart

John 14:23
Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.

What a beautiful verse! This is the memory verse for my group this week! We’re starting to memorize verses once every 2 weeks. So by the end of this year, we will all know 26 verses! It is important to know God’s Word, and have it at the tip of our fingers.

I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you. Psalm 119:11

The Bible says it like this- to hide the words in our hearts, so that we may not sin against God. We cannot possibly start flipping the pages of the Bible to find verses when we are plagued by trials or temptation. We must know God’s response, and our have strength immediately. We must have it in our hearts. Jesus says that if we love Him, we will obey His teaching. And if we do sincerely want to obey Him, let us know His Words to us inside out, that we may not easily sin.

Youth Alpha is a 12 week course for youths up to (I believe) 18. But many above that age have signed up already, so don’t worry about it! Okay it’s a course about Christianity, where you may learn more about what this faith really is about. And as the tag line goes, ask anything you wish about it. We may not answer you directly or instantaneously, but I promise you that you will find answers to deeper questions you’ve always had, or never believed you had until you attend.\

The introductory session is on the 19th of February, at

Church of Singapore (Marine Parade)
145 Marine Parade Road, Antioch Hall, 1st Floor

230pm to 430pm

You could let me know if you are interested, or just turn up! But it would be better to sign up so we can cater enough food 😀 Yes, good food! Oh and you don’t have to come all 12 weeks if you can’t. Just come whenever you can, it’ll be every Saturday from the 19th, same time same place.
